In an instant, everything changed.

On 26 August 2026, a surge of water, ice, mud and debris swept the Bhote Koshi–Trishuli corridor along the Nepal–Tibet border. Villages, roads and bridges were washed away. Communities are cut off. National and international responders are mobilised. Reaching the hardest-hit areas remains difficult. Emergency aid — food, shelter, care, water — is critical. Figures change every day. We update them as soon as a verified source allows.
